Vlogbrothers rewatch, Day 9: January 11

There are a dozen tiny chickens inside my head as I write this, a reference I completely forgot about until I watched today's video. That's what's great about rewatching old videos. Eventually you forget them so that you can one day watch them again and remember everything as if you've never seen it before.

It's Day 9 of my ongoing series where I watch every Vlogbrothers video (using this playlist) from the very beginning (that's since January 1, 2007). This first year of videos in particular is going to take a while to get through since Hank and John made videos the majority of the days in 2007, but we'll see how many days it takes me to catch up.

We've reached the origin point of tiny chicken disease! I only celebrate that fact because, again, I completely forgot it existed. There are some Vlogbrothers references that are just burned into your brain forever whether you wish you could forget them or not, and unfortunately this wasn't one of them for me. Until now!

A lot of people in the comments of this video returned to point out that Hank finally got his mohawk (if you know you know), and that broke my heart into so many pieces. The mention of potential punishments also reminded me that there are some really good punishment videos down the line, and I'm sorry, but I can't wait to reach them.

I started this series for many reasons, but the most prominent one was that I'm seeking joy after a very difficult year. And I'm happy to say that this rewatch is delivering on that and so much more. We all need to return to the things we love in times of sorrow. We deserve that, even when we don't think that we do.
