Sometimes when it feels like everything is going wrong around you and you have little to no control over the outcome, the absolute best (and sometimes only) thing you can do to cope is to sing about it. I actually implement this philosophy a lot in my daily life, and based on today's Vlogbrothers video, it's good to be reminded that I'm not the only one.

Welcome (or welcome back) to Vlogbrothers Rewatch! We don't sing here, but I do document my daily journey through every Vlogbrothers video on their YouTube channel using this playlist. I am doing this one video at a time, starting from the very beginning, and going in chronological order. It's the only way to do it, really. If you have never gone through all the old Brotherhood 2.0 videos to find the gems hidden within, I highly recommend it. In fact, why not come along this journey with me? We're making great progress so far.

The idea of singing when there isn't really a better way to cope with the horrors goes along nicely with the theme of yesterday's video -- in which Hank discussed what happens when people grow up and forget how to have fun. When things are bad, it's temping to sink into the despair and not want to bother going on. But then you start to sing about it, and maybe everything changes. Maybe everything starts to feel okay even when it momentarily is not.

This is why so many of us create content on the internet. Because it helps us cope. It either gives us space to talk about the bad things or offers us the chance to create a distraction from the pain and suffering. Maybe we sing, maybe we dance, maybe we find some other way -- the point is that there is no better way to get through it then to find small moments of joy despite it.
