I've worked on projects where I had to go up to strangers and ask or offer them things, and I'm beyond grateful that this is something I no longer need to do -- and have not done for years at this point. It's one thing to approach strangers with a group of friends, but to do it alone -- even to give away Peeps for free -- is a feat I'm always amazed others have the capacity to pull off successfully.

The fact that Hank Green could do this even way back in 2007, to be honest, is not quite as surprising -- although he could never do this now, nor would he likely try. Admittedly, I wouldn't hate to see a recreation of this video in 2025 just to see what would happen ...

Welcome (or welcome back) to Vlogbrothers Rewatch! This is an ongoing series where I document my daily journey through the Vlogbrothers' YouTube channel in chronological, from the very beginning, using this playlist. Peeps will continue to be the theme of these videos for a minute, so I hope you're ready for that.

This is one of those videos that kind of just warms your heart. Innocent, friendly interactions between people who may have otherwise never met. Just pure, unnecessary, delightful fun. One of the many ways online video just isn't the way it used to be -- you can tell this is genuine, and no one is performing, or hoping to go viral.

That made me sound a little old and cranky, but maybe in internet using years that's exactly what I am! It's not always easy to tell what's real and what isn't on the internet now, but with videos like this, ones that came out back then, it was so much more common to catch genuine moments on camera. One of many things that haven't changed about Vlogbrothers is that these moments are still plentiful, and likely always will be.
