It turns out my memory of these videos in particular wasn't quite correct -- rather than consuming Peeps chubby bunny-style for his punishment, Hank Green was instead instructed to eat as many as he could in six minutes. Which is a lot better in my opinion, since as I have stated here at least once before, I'm not the biggest fan of challenges or punishments that are painful. Although, Hank didn't seem to be doing very well by the end of this video ...
Welcome (or welcome back!) to Vlogbrothers Rewatch! This is an ongoing series of articles in which I watch every upload on the Vlogbrothers YouTube channel from beginning to end, in chronological order, and provide commentary daily video by video. Using this playlist, I'm still early on into 2007 where I am discovering that I don't remember as much from old Brotherhood 2.0 videos as I once thought. But the things I do remember ... have been quite surprising so far.
While I may not be the biggest fan of Peeps (or punishments), I am a huge fan of discussing books while eating (or really while doing anything simultaneously, for that matter). The subject matter of the book may not be the lighthearted summary you might expect from an accompaniment of Peep consumption, but it fits well with the end result -- a small donation to what would eventually turn into the charitable organization the Foundation to Decrease World Suck.
This video also marks the origin of the four minutes or less video time limit rule, which I believe has since been scrapped. But it lasted for quite a long time, and became a staple of Vlogbrothers videos as a result -- making the occasional breaking of this rule much more interesting.
There are, unfortunately, more Peeps videos on the way. Let's do this.
