In which Hank has a very relatable dilemma.

I've written before, in relation to early Vlogbrothers videos, how much many of them are a product of their time. Particularly in today's case, Hank Green remarks in the video how nice it would be to be able to store books on his hard drive rather than finding places to store them around his house. This was, of course, before ereaders were the mainstream item they are now. When this video released, for example, Amazon hadn't even released the first Kindle device yet.

This is one of many thing that make Brotherhood 2.0 videos particularly special. In 2007, many of us wondered what it would be like to store most of our books on some kind of device rather than having to magically create more shelf space. We don't have these kinds of dreams anymore because, for many of us, the concept has since become a reality.

Welcome back to Vlogbrothers Rewatch -- an ongoing series in which I document my journey through the entire back catalog of Vlogbrothers YouTube videos, in chronological order from the very beginning, using this playlist. We're about two months in (in Vlogbrothers time) and I can't speak for you, but I know I'm having a great time.

Figuring out where books go, especially in small spaces, is something I could give an entire hour-long talk about without any notes or research. I've crammed books into a single room in an apartment and even in one small corner of a dorm room. Even now, with over a thousand books and not nearly enough space to display them all, I'm making it work. Everyone has their own aesthetic and preferences for how books are stored -- you just have to capitalize on that when figuring out exactly what that can look like for you in your current living situation.

Listen, I'm just happy that it's much easier to store books digitally than it used to be.
