The Strawberry Hill challenge is upon us! I do recall that video quite vividly (honestly, how could you not?). But we're not quite there just yet. No, for now we're doing something we don't get to do very often on the Vlogbrothers YouTube channel. We're hanging out with Hank Green in an airport. And buying wine, with five minutes to spare.
This is Vlogbrothers Rewatch, an ongoing Vlogger Beat series in which I rewatch every video on the Vlogbrothers YouTube channel in order, from the very beginning, using this playlist. I am doing this once per day until I eventually catch up to current uploads (when will that happen? Unclear; I haven't done the math yet) in an effort to seek joy and lean in to things that remind me that the little things in life are what make the days worth it.
Vacation Hank makes me so happy. In recent videos we have seen him so overwhelmed by the current state of the world and filled with uncertainty and doubt just like the rest of us. And while he may have felt these feelings 18 years ago as well, this video showcases so well a side of him we just don't get to see very often anymore. It makes sense, though. His life and the world are very different now. Adulthood changes you. It's hard. It wears you down.
I can't believe I've now been doing this for a month. It feels like no time has passed at all, and it also feels like I haven't even made a dent in working my way through this playlist. I hope you're in this for the long haul, because at this rate it's going to take me years to finish this series. I'll stick with it if you will. We're in this together now. There's no turning back.
