I was never particularly good at Guitar Hero. I'm a musician in real life, but there's just something about staring at a screen, listening to a beat, and pressing buttons on a fake instrument that scrambles my brain in some weird way. I guess this is probably why I generally try not to take video games too seriously, because I'm not really good at those either. These videos continue to show their age (back when the Nintendo Wii and Guitar Hero were "all the rage") and I'm absolutely loving the nostalgia of it all.

And why are we talking about Guitar Hero in 2024, you might be asking? Because this is Vlogbrothers Rewatch, an ongoing series of articles in which -- as the series title might suggest -- I rewatch every Vlogbrothers video in order from the very beginning, using this playlist, one per day either until I eventually get caught up to current video uploads or YouTube as we know it ceases to exit. Whichever may come first (these days, who can say for sure?).

I found it quite easy to relate to this video, as someone with easily mess-up-able hair (these days Hank and I both have curly hair, but that's a commentary for another time). My hair looks very similar to this video when I wake up in the morning, with different pieces going in all sorts of directions they should not be. Leave-in conditioner is a beautiful thing.

(Once in high school a guy asked me as I was walking by if I had ever heard of a comb, and I shot him such a menacing glare that he never tried to speak to me again. Come to think of it, this may have happened around the time this video came out.)

Anyway, Vlgobrothers! Technically Brotherhood 2.0 at this stage, but you get the idea. I'm having a great time, and I hope you are too. I'll "see" you tomorrow!
