Okay, so it's not technically a music video. But it IS the first performance of a song on the channel in a semi-official capacity, which is a great milestone to hit when we're not even a month into this thing. I also must confess that I have no memory of this video, and though I very likely did watch it once before about 10 or so years ago, some things simply escape you. So I am happy to report that I pretty much saw this video for the first time again today. Yay me?

If you're new here, well, what an interesting spot to drop in on! And welcome (or welcome back). This is Vlogbrothers Rewatch, where I rewatch one Vlogbrothers video per day, in order from the very beginning (using this playlist) and write some commentary on each one.

I'm largely doing this in an effort to seek comfort and joy in a particularly uncertain time in my country and the world, and there's nothing more comforting or joyful to me than a group of people harmonizing as they sing mildly nonsensical lyrics in front of a camera.

It's the videos I've forgotten completely about that have been the most delightful to revisit so far. I appreciate the nostalgia factor for the ones I do remember, and the further we get into this project the more of them I will recall. But to almost be re-introduced to wonderful things is a perk of this endeavor I neither anticipated nor do I regret it one bit.

These early Vlogbrothers videos truly are what built the foundation for what this channel -- and all it represents -- would eventually become. The same brothers, the same supportive community, just bigger and brighter and with a slightly improved quality in production. It started out great and over time became extraordinary.
