There are a lot of great things about watching old Vlogbrothers videos for the first time in almost 10 years. By far one of the greatest, however, are those moments when you come to realize just how much the Green brothers and their lives have evolved over the last nearly 18 years.

But before I muse on that, welcome back (or, for those who are new, welcome for the very first time)! This is Vlogbrothers Rewatch, a series in which I am embarking on an epic and very long quest to watch every Vlogbrothers video on their YouTube channel in order from the very beginning, one per day, using this playlist.

When does it end, you ask? That's a more complicated question than you might think. Either I will eventually watch through all 18+ years of videos and catch up to current uploads or the internet as we know it will cease to exist. At this point, it's virtually impossible to know which one of these two things may happen first.

The beginning of this video is the first -- and delightfully not the last -- time we have an audience deliver the typical "good morning" greeting that now accompanies every video. The especially striking thing about this occurrence is that it's very, very small. Quite literally a handful of people in chairs in a very small room.

Eventually we will see such audiences grow to thousands of voices as Hank and John become more and more renowned around the world. But it's these kinds of videos, the ones where you see where everything began, that remind you that time always moves forward. Even in those moments it seems as though you will never make it to where you have always dreamed to be, someday you might look at your life and realize you made it further than you ever thought possible.
