Every week on the popular YouTube series Hot Ones, celebrity guests brave the heat while promoting their upcoming work. These interviews aren't just about answering tough questions. They're also about proving to the world (and maybe even to yourself) how much spice you can handle on your hot wings.

This week's guest is Bowen Yang. The comedian, actor, writer, and podcaster is best known for his work on Saturday Night Live, first as a writer and then as a regular on-screen cast member. He was named Forbes magazine's 30 Under 30 on the Hollywood & Entertainment list in 2019, and became the first SNL featured cast member to be nominated for a Primetime Emmy award in 2021 for his work on the show. He was also named Time 100 Influential People in 2021.

For anyone new to the Hot Ones format, let me quickly break it down for you (chances are, you're going to love it). Host Sean Evans invites a celebrity guest onto each episode to join him at the iconic Hot Ones table. The interview involves a series of questions that each get a little harder to answer as the conversation moves from round to round. Seems fairly straightforward, right? But wait -- there's a catch.

What makes Hot Ones truly unique is that as interviewer and guest discuss the celebrity's life, work, and more, they're simultaneously eating hot wings. Each round features a particular hot sauce, and with each round and sauce, the wings get hotter. The interview ends in one of two ways: Either the guest makes it to the final question, or they tap out when things get too (literally) spicy.
