This week on Hot Ones: SZA
By Meg Dowell
Now that Season 25 of Hot Ones is underway, audiences can prepare themselves for an entirely new slate of a variety of celebrity guests (and of course, hot sauces). SZA is the next upcoming guest to join Sean Evans at the table, and it's not an interview you're going to want to miss.
SZA (pronounced Siz-a) is a Grammy award-winning American singer and songwriter. She was awarded the Songwriters Hall of Fame's Hal David Starlight Award in 2024 and has written songs for Beyoncé, Nicki Minaj, and others.
Like the many Hot Ones guests before her, SZA will have to withstand not only Evans' increasingly difficult questions, but also the rising heat of each new accompanying hot wing. Can she make it to the end unscathed?
For those who are just learning about the show, Hot Ones is a YouTube-based, interview-style series in which each episode features a different guest -- usually coinciding with the release of a new project such as a TV show or album. Interviews are broken up into rounds by question. With each new question, the hot wings increase in spice level.
Not every guest makes it to the final round of questions -- that depends on whether or not they can handle the heat. Unlike many other celebrity-focused shows, the questions featured on Hot Ones focus less on what's already known about the guests and more about deeper thought and conversation.
Barely two episodes in, it seems likely that Season 25 of the show will be one of the most interesting yet. With the return of some fan-favorite sauces and the introduction of new heat to the lineup -- plus plenty of guests who haven't even been announced yet -- there is a lot to look forward to.
This week's episode of Hot Ones drops on the First We Feast YouTube channel at 11 AM Thursday, September 26.
