The most popular video on The Try Guys YouTube channel, "The Try Guys Get Their Bones Cracked," has over 27 million all-time views. There are plenty of viral videos that get more views. But the channel's most viral video of all time likely acquired most of its 13 million views at an alarming rate before fizzling out, as many viral videos on the platform do.

Even if you've never seen the "what happened." video, you may have seen or heard about it from its Saturday Night Live spoof. That's how intensely the video -- and the news that forced the channel to post it -- gained "popularity" for the worst possible reason.

The video, posted on October 3, 2022, went live a little after the news broke that original members Zach Kornfeld, Eugene Lee Yang, and Keith Habersberger were parting ways with fourth original member Ned Fulmer. Fulmer abruptly left the company after it was revealed that he'd been having an inappropriate relationship with one of his employees.

The remaining team members recently revealed that their company lost millions of dollars in brand deals after the incident. Before launching their 2nd try streaming service, their videos only existed on YouTube. Advertising money was an essential source of income for the company. They added a streaming option to prevent losing money like that in the future.

The viral video features Lee Yang, Kornfeld, and Habersberger sitting on a couch as they read from a carefully crafted script. They explain what happened (that Fulmer admitted to inappropriate behavior) and that the team was going to have to take time to regroup.

Eventually, the three remaining members would launch a rebrand that would carry them through to the launch of 2nd try, a new era since Lee Yang announced he would not be joining the rest of the crew for the next leg of the journey.

The "what happened." video wasn't optional. Fans had been given an update on Twitter, but a face-to-face explanation of the incident and the planned path forward allowed fans to continue supporting the company as it tried to recover from its losses.

The Try Guys are still going -- and the video is still up for anyone curious to see Lee Yang more angry than you'll ever see him anywhere else.
