The Try Guys launch another month of pilots on 2nd try
By Meg Dowell
Another Pilot Month has begun for The Try Guys -- a series of new episodes of shows fans have never seen before (but will, in all likelihood, see again in the future).
The Try Guys announced publicly on social media earlier this week that September 2024 marks the beginning of another Pilot Month, where 2nd try subscribers will be treated to pilot episodes of three new shows that could continue on the app and channel if audience responses to them are positive.
This is similar to the Pilot Month the group hosted on YouTube earlier this year before launching their 2nd try streaming service in May 2024. Shows like Trolley Problems, Escape the Kitchen, and Common Sense were all part of the original Pilot Month, and have since released more episodes on the 2nd try platform.
The four new shows releasing pilots in September include Pitch Imperfect, Dirty Little Secret, and Queer Coded.
Not much information further has been released about the three new pilot show episodes, but Try Guys fans have plenty of theories. One viewer asked: "is pitch imperfect your version of shark tank"? Which would be a fun concept considering the 2nd try cast members are all creatives who probably have plenty of ideas they've never been able to (imperfectly) pitch to an audience before.
During the original Pilot Month from earlier this year, whether or not shows allegedly made into the regular video rotation was based on a voting system, where Try Guys fans were encouraged on social media to vote for their favorite shows. A similar system may be used this time, although the difference between the original Pilot Month and this one is that it's exclusive to 2nd try subscribers.
So if you've been on the fence about subscribing to the streaming service, now may be the perfect time to give it a try!
