Creating content on the internet can sometimes feel extremely isolating. Many of us spend hours alone in our private creative spaces making videos, writing posts, taking photos, and interacting with audiences that don't have any connection to our personal lives -- or, often, to the reality of our day-to-day operations.

But it can also be difficult to conect with other content creators who are in the same space you're in -- especially when it feels as though you are "competing" against the other creators around you. You are ... and you aren't. For the most part, you should be leaning on your fellow creators rather than trying to compete with them.

It may seem like you and someone who makes similar content to yours might be competing for ad revenue or brand deals, but the reality is that no two people are going to make the exact same content. Every content creator brings something unique to their space, and that's what makes each individual stand out.

That's why content creators must rely on each other for support. It's not easy doing what we do. And anyone in our lives who doesn't create content on a regular basis doesn't have the same understanding of the business as other content creators do. It's challenging, draining work no matter how much you might love doing it. And the more support you have as you go, the easier it becomes to endure.

Create your own "support group" filled with content creators who want other content creators to succeed. A safe space where you can vent, bounce around ideas, celebrate each others' wins and support each other through disappointments and losses.

It won't solve all your problems. But everyone needs a place to troubleshoot, work through ideas, and let's be honest, laugh a little. Content creation can be a community effort, if you find the right people to continue your journey with.
