Hank Green almost changed title of recent video so it would get 'fewer views'

The video addresses whether or not the YouTube personality would run for office.

Hank Green has been asked many times whether or not he would run for president of the United States -- so many times that he has since made a video addressing it.

The video, posted to the vlogbrothers channel he shares with his brother John Green, is titled "Should I Run For President??" In it, Hank Green revealed he's been asked by the Montana Democratic Party previously if he wanted to run for local office. He also discussed previously believing he couldn't run for president and why his beliefs have changed.

The video understandably started gaining traction, and now has over 300,000 views. Shortly after the video released, he said in a post on X (Formerly Twitter) that he might "have to change the title of this video so it gets fewer views..."

Presumably, he didn't want to mislead anyone with the original title, as the conclusion of the four-minute monologue ends up being that he doesn't want to run for president and, therefore, probably never will.

"I think people who don't have experience with how governments work should probably get some of that experience before becoming the person in charge of The United States of America, is all I'm saying," he said, using Donald Trump's administration as an example of why he doesn't believe appointing someone with political inexperience should run the country.

"I should not run for president," he concluded. "But I would like to become the world's leading sock salesman." (One of the campaigns Green runs, Awesome Socks Club, sells socks, all proceeds of which are donated to charity.)

Green didn't end up changing the title of the video after all, but it's possible posting about considering the title change could have had the added benefit of drawing more eyes to what turned out to be, as usual, an insightful and informative explanation of what kind of person it takes to hold such a position of office and why he isn't that person -- and never will be.
