The 2024 Paris Olympics are well underway. Every four years (two if you count the Winter Olympics), the world comes together in celebration and unity. These events can lead to some of history's greatest pop culture moments. This year is no different, with memes galore spinning out of games.
Here are 3 of our favorite memes from the Paris Olympic Games 2024.
1. Snoop Dogg
"I don't know when we decided Snoop Dogg was the official US mascot, but I hope it never changes," said Twitter user @todayyearsoldig, and this person is absolutely correct. It's hard to pick just one viral moment with the rapper who has become the biggest cheerleader for Team USA over the games. From hanging out with the horses with Martha Stuart to hopping on Univision to yell the famous "GOOOOOOAAAAAAAAALLL" in soccer, he's had quite a games himself. He even met Cookie Monster, who, the rapper shared, was special as the sweets-loving puppet was his favorite.
The standout is his wide-eyed reaction to watching Katie Ledecky win one of her many storied races by over 10 seconds ahead of the competition. The moment was instantly a breakout moment for the internet.
Watching the birth of a meme on live TV is pretty special. Thank you, Snoop Dogg. pic.twitter.com/wKBVAB3r9f

2. The Olympic Shooters
Like Snoop Dogg, it's so hard to pick just one. Everyone came out to make memes about this group, including the Merriam-Webster Dictionary. Turkey's Yusuf Dikeรง has become a breakout, having been dubbed a "hitman" by fans for his casual demeanor. South Korea's Kim Yeji has also become an internet darling, with anime fandom in particular latching on to these two for some amazing artwork. They would make an incredible show about a young secret agent getting her gruff mentor out of retirement for one last job. Some fans have also pointed out that a simple Olympic anime series would be perfect too.

Even Merriam Webster got in on the side-by-sides. But South Korea's Kim Yeji and Turkey's Yusuf Dikec are the faves. pic.twitter.com/UeGpl690lp

If I compiled the collection of poses I've came across on my home tab, it would look like an anime poster haha pic.twitter.com/E4IiLTpAAh

3. Stephen Nedoroscik
Whether it's Clarke Kent or Peter Parker, Stephen Neroroscik is the nerd who stole the hearts of America. The pommel horse specialist in men's gymnastics helped break Team USA's medal drought in sixteen years. Unlike his teammates, this is his only event, which is considered one of, if not the hardest, in his sport. The way that Stephen simply walked out of the locker room, waited for his turn, removed his glasses, and then threw down a medal-worthy performance made him an instant hit.
Obsessed with this guy on the US men's gymnastics team who's only job is pommel horse, so he just sits there until he's activated like a sleeper agent, whips off his glasses like Clark Kent and does a pommel horse routine that helps deliver the team its first medal in 16 years. pic.twitter.com/0D1ZqJjFa1

Did we pick your favorite? Or were you more of a fan of Noah Lyles' Kamehameha gold medal pose or the flappy arm guy in the opening ceremony? The Olympics are always an excellent time for the world to come together, made even more fun by the internet.
