If you're anything like me, you're always on the hunt for new meal ideas to keep breakfast, lunch, dinner, and even snacks interesting from week to week. You may already know this, but TikTok is a pretty solid resource when it comes to figuring out what's going on the weekend's grocery list.
Which is why I'm starting a weekly Vlogger Beat series in which each Friday, to help you and I fill our respective grocery lists for the week ahead, I'm going to find and share a handful of new recipes we can all try from TikTok.
Full disclosure: These recipes are plant-based, because I'm vegetarian and that's what my personal TikTok algorithm feeds me when I recipe hunt. But plant-based isn't bad! You might eat at least one technically vegetarian meal a week and not even know it, if you have pasta without meat in it for example.
These recipes may have been on the app for a while, but they're new to me -- and maybe to you too! So let's see which meal ideas had me hitting save the fastest this week.
One-Pan Taco Skillet
This recipe has everything you love: taco ingredients and the promise of fewer dishes afterward! Throwing everything into one pan makes things both quicker and easier, and it's a budget-friendly set of ingredients as well.
High-Protein Pesto Bruschetta
Everyone on FoodTok is talking about protein these days -- mostly how to pack as much of it as possible into a day's worth of meals and snacks. This recipe is packed with nutrition, but you also get to have pesto in the process, so we're all winners here.
Tortellini Bake
When I was a kid, I always thought that vegetables in pasta ruined the entire experience. No matter how much sauce and cheese you drowned it in, you could still taste the veggies -- no thanks! But I'm an adult now, and anywhere I can sneak in vegetables, I'll do it in a heartbeat. Yes, even in pasta.
Black Bean Burger Patties
While it may be true that black bean burgers neither feel nor taste like traditional hamburger meat, that's sort of the point. If you add your usual burger toppings, it's almost the same thing, right? I've actually never made black bean burgers from scratch, so this might be first on my list to try sooner rather than later.
Stay tuned for more recipes, and enjoy your food!
