The upcoming holidays means it's a great time for both baking and cooking. If you want your home to smell great but also don't want to fill up just on your favorite seasonal treats (but there's nothing wrong with that if you do), there are plenty of plant-based recipes out there that both taste great and are great for you.
These are the best TikTok recipes I found this week -- they may not all be brand-new, but they're new to me! And if I've already found and saved them for myself, why not take the time to also share them with all of you?
Cottage Cheese Banana Pancakes
I'm always looking for a creative way to elevate my breakfasts, especially on weekends and over work breaks. I tend to eat the same thing every day throughout the week, and it's always nice when I find something I don't usually have.
This recipe is packed with protein but also filled with flavors you're probably already familiar with, like cinnamon and banana. Usually when you blend cottage cheese into recipes like this, you can't even tell it's there -- so if you're not a fan usually, I would give this a try anyway.
Cheese-Stuffed Garlic Naan
You really can't ever go wrong with cheese, garlic, and any type of bread. Naan is already fluffy and delicious no matter the flavor, but taking something that's already good and adding cheese and garlic to it just automatically makes it a must-eat.
Admittedly, I figured naan would be hard to make -- but it really isn't. Just follow this recipe and you might be impressed with what you can do in such a short amount of time.
Marry Me Gnocchi
I personally always go for gnocchi when I want pasta but need something a little different (as in, not your classic spaghetti for the third time in the same month). Elevating the sauce always helps too (although a good classic red sauce never hurt anyone), and that's what makes this recipe perfect.
What's especially great about it is that it doesn't actually take that long to make. So it's perfect for a weeknight or any meal, really.
Broccoli Stem Fries
I don't know about you, but I always feel a little bad about throwing away my broccoli stems. I don't want to eat them -- who would? -- but have never known what to do with them. Leave it to the TikTok algorithm to feed me (literally) the perfect solution.
When you bake these, the stems get soft, and with the breading and seasoning it really does feel like you're eating fries ... or something fried. It's worth a try!
